UGP Athletes Rose To The Challenge At The Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Seven UGP athletes took on the Zurich Classic this past week in New Orleans, Louisiana. As the only team event on the PGA TOUR, UGP athletes rose to the challenge with two teams finishing in the Top 5 and another in the Top 10.
David Lipsky and partner Brandon Wu delivered a standout performance, carding two rounds of 63 to finish 25-under and T4. Right alongside them, UGP’s Karl Vilips and Michael Thorbjornsen opened with a 64 and followed up with a stellar 61 in round three, also securing a T4 finish. Finishing just behind them, Isaiah Salinda and Kevin Velo held strong across all four days to finish 24-under and T8.
UGP’s Oscar Morales claimed victory at the Big Ten Championship in Baltimore on Sunday.
Omar Morales took over the individual lead in the second round to go on to claim a three-stroke victory with an impressive final round of an even-par 70 and a three-round total of 203 (-7).
The Bruins' All-American helped lead his team to victory with a team overall total of 842, finishing one ahead of Illinois.
Four of our UGP athletes teed it up in The Woodlands, Texas, at the Chevron Championship. Allisen Corpuz delivered a strong Top-20 finish, closing with an impressive 4-under final round to post a tournament total of 1-under par. Andrea Lee came out hot with an opening-round 69 and wrapped up the week with a steady even-par 72, finishing T30.
Next up, UGP TOUR heads to McKinney, Texas, for the CJ CUP Byron Nelson and to Ivins, Utah, for the Black Desert Championship
